Kristina Everett counsels domestic and international clients on regulatory and compliance matters in food and drug law. She assists clients in establishing regulatory clearances for food contact materials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its international counterparts in the European Union (EU), Latin America, and elsewhere. She also advises clients on good manufacturing practice (GMP) issues related to the manufacture of food packaging.
Kristina prepares legal opinion letters regarding the FDA status of food packaging components, such as monomers, polymers, adhesives, printing inks, and color additives, and advises clients on establishing self-determined Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) positions. She also counsels clients on environmental issues, such as state, national, and international regulatory requirements governing the use of recycled materials in food contact applications.
While in law school, she received the Dean’s Recognition for Professional Development. Additionally, Kristina completed legal Internships at a D.C.-based nonprofit and in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in New York. She was also a Summer Associate for Keller and Heckman, where she conducted regulatory research, drafted blog posts regarding regulatory updates, and tracked developments in state and local laws for firm clients.
