In Memoriam: Jean Savigny

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our dear friend and colleague Jean Savigny passed away on November 9, 2024. Following a distinguished 20-year career as a prominent European law practitioner, Jean opened Keller and Heckman’s Brussels office in 1992 and served as managing partner of that office until his retirement in 2016. 

Throughout his career, Jean focused on Food and Drug law, and was widely recognized for his understanding of the complexities of European food law and the relationship between EU and member state laws and regulations. We are grateful that his previous professional experiences led him to Keller and Heckman, where his unique ability to provide both legal and technical guidance became an invaluable resource to our clients.

Jean’s exceptional leadership and service he provided to our firm and our clients will be remembered for years to come. He will be profoundly missed—not only as a colleague, but as a cherished friend and trusted mentor.
