Manesh Rath Quoted in Inside OSHA Article on OSHA’s Potential Heat Rule
Keller and Heckman Partner Manesh Rath was quoted in the Inside OSHA article, “Parker Urges Employers to Provide ‘Gap-Filling’ Data for Heat Rule.” The article refers to Keller and Heckman’s October 9, 2024, OSHA 30/30 webinar, A Conversation with the Honorable Douglas Parker, the Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. During the webinar, Parker stressed that OSHA’s heat rule is “our biggest rulemaking priority right now” and called on employers to provide comments and data. This data will be key to filling in the gaps, according to Parker, in OSHA’s data on heat dangers in the workplace and potential approaches to mitigation.
Manesh predicted that the federal rule “is going to be one of the most significant rulemaking initiatives in the full panel of occupational safety and health standards.”
Thus, he urged webinar attendees to “talk to your industry groups, coordinate, gather data, [and] prepare feedback for the agency that will help shape a heat standard that is something that we can all coexist with.”
