Keller and Heckman Successfully Defends Nation’s First Products Liability Case Involving a Hemp-Derived Cannabis Product

Keller and Heckman LLP and Troutman Law Office PLLC are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the nation’s first products liability case involving a hemp-derived cannabis product.

Daniel McGee of Keller and Heckman and Greg Troutman of Troutman Law Office defended a North Carolina hemp-derivative product manufacturer in the Circuit Court for Fayette County, Kentucky against products liability, failure to warn, and negligence claims. 

The Circuit Court granted a summary judgment to the client on October 22, 2024, and the plaintiff failed to file an appeal within 30 days provided by Kentucky law.
