Keller and Heckman Partner Larry Halprin's Role in the American Petroleum Insitute Settlement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
Larry Halprin was quoted in the February 24 issue of BNA Chemical Regulation Reporter and the February 25 issue of Inside OSHA Online, in connection with his work on behalf of the American Petroleum Institute in challenging four aspects of the 2012 GHS amendments to the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (HCS 2012). On February 21, API and OSHA (on behalf of OSHA and the unions who intervened in the litigation) entered into a precedent-setting settlement agreement to resolve the litigation. In reaching the agreement, Mr. Halprin said, "we believe the settlement advances the goals of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and provides American Petroleum Institute's members with a much-needed practical approach to compliance with the complex requirements of the OSHA hazard communication standard.” Click
