Keller and Heckman LLP to Host 14th Annual Food Packaging Law Seminar in Arlington, VA on September 17-18, 2013

Global law firm Keller and Heckman will be hosting its 14th Annual Food Packaging Law Seminar on September 17-18, 2013, in Arlington, VA.  This comprehensive two-day seminar is designed for regulatory, scientific, and legal professionals to keep up-to-date on the latest food packaging law developments.

Previous Keller and Heckman Food Packaging Law Seminars have garnered praise from participants, one of whom described the program as “an excellent opportunity to hear about the basics along with the latest challenges coming up.  The expertise of Keller and Heckman is invaluable and they are more than open to some one-on-one time.” Another participant said, “I always have lots of updates to take back to the office!”

This year’s offering is poised to be similarly well-received.  Highlights from the program include an introduction to the basics of food packaging regulation in the U.S. and internationally, a focus on good manufacturing practices, and U.S. chemistry and toxicology considerations.  Guest speaker, FDA’s Dr. Dennis Keefe, will offer insight and perspective on issues of importance to the food packaging industry. Additionally, there will be multiple break-out sessions, which will offer in-depth information on topics such as avoiding environmental marketing pitfalls, assessing the safety of printing inks, and the implications of new testing requirements under the Plastics Regulation in the EU.

Keller and Heckman has a broad practice in the areas of regulatory law, litigation, and business transactions, serving both domestic and international clients. With offices in Washington, D.C.; Brussels; San Francisco; and Shanghai, the firm helps the world's most vital businesses achieve their objectives. A pioneer in the use of interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving, Keller and Heckman has had an in-house scientific staff since 1971 that works closely with the firm's attorneys on matters of technical complexity.
