Keller and Heckman to Host Privacy Workshop, Tomorrow’s Data Challenges

Keller and Heckman’s Privacy and Data Security Partner Peter Craddock will host a workshop, Tomorrow’s Data Challenges, for a select group of clients and contacts at the firm’s Brussels office on 14 November 2023. Peter, who will also be joined by Partner Tracy Marshall from the firm’s Washington, DC office, will lead a discussion on multiple topics, including dark patterns, digital advertising, mobile app reflexes, and limits of the concept of “automated decision-making.” The workshop will lead attendees to examine the challenges and solutions that these issues bring with them, and to share under the Chatham House Rule how those issues are affecting their respective companies.

“In an environment in which regulators have often adopted dogmatic approaches, we often face the challenge of helping pragmatism prevail. Ultimately, whether it is through litigation or strategic advice, our key role is to help clients find solutions to help them achieve their digital goals. Sometimes, this involves anticipating regulators’ positions and baking them into a service; at other times, this involves helping a client to build a case so as to bring into question the regulator’s position. Either way, the process is incredibly rewarding,” said Peter, who focuses his Privacy, Data Security, and Digital Media practice on helping companies in the European Union (EU) and worldwide improve the use of their data by providing strategic advice and legal assistance in the areas of privacy, data protection, data governance, AI governance, cybersecurity, e-commerce, digitalization, and software contracting.

The workshop, Tomorrow’s Data Challenges, is closed to the public; however, if you are interested in having Peter and Keller and Heckman’s Privacy, Data Security, and Digital Media team discuss these or similar matters facing your company, please contact Peter at craddock@khlaw.com or the practice at privacy@khlaw.com
