Herb Estreicher Quoted in Chemical Watch News Article on EPA’s Plans to Evaluate Fluoride
Keller and Heckman Partner Herb Estreicher was quoted in the Chemical Watch News article, “US EPA plan to evaluate fluoride ‘not responsive’ to court’s TSCA order, attorney says.” The article indicates that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that they will be reviewing the health effects of fluoride in drinking water under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).
EPA “can certainly decide to proceed under the SDWA rather than TSCA and that would be the right thing to do,” Herb commented. “EPA has no business using TSCA to supplant the robust and effective mechanisms available under the other laws administered by EPA, including the SDWA,” he added.
