Herb Estreicher Quoted in Article on TSCA Reform Proposals and Required Data to EPA

Keller and Heckman Partner Herb Estreicher was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “TSCA Reform Proposals Said to Broaden Scope of Firms Required to Provide EPA Data.” The articles notes how proposals to overhaul the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) would expand the number and type of companies required to provide chemical use, exposure, and toxicity data to regulators and broaden the data requirements to include more information on chemical identity, according to analysts who have studied the two legislative proposals on Capitol Hill.

More companies would be required to provide EPA information because the proposals would expand the definition of chemical substance, analysts said. The legislative language also would require information not only from chemical manufacturers, but also from downstream companies or “processors” that handle and sell chemicals or products made with those substances.
