Herb Estreicher Quoted in Article on Notice Deadlines for Chemicals Firms

Keller and Heckman Partner Herb Estreicher was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Deadlines Ahead for Chemical Firms to Submit Notices, Registration Dossiers.” The article discusses how chemical companies operating in the European Union must submit extensive registration dossiers to the European Chemicals Agency in 2010, detailing the properties and uses of their products, while separately providing classification and labeling notifications for substances in their inventories.

Submission of registration dossiers by a deadline of Nov. 30, 2010, is a requirement of the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) law ((EC) No. 1907/2006) and applies to substances manufactured in, or imported into, the European Union in volumes of 1,000 metric tons or more per year.
