Herb Estreicher Quoted in Article on Food Additive Classification in the EU

Keller and Heckman Partner Herb Estreicher was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Companies Selling Food Additives in EU Now Must Classify, Label Their Products.” The article discusses how companies that make or sell food additives in the European Union (EU) are working to classify and label those chemicals in accordance with a new interpretation issued in July by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) of the EU’s classification and labeling regulation. 

ECHA revised its list of Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) Frequently Asked Questions to provide a new interpretation of whether food additives are covered by the rules (CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008), Herb said during a Chemical Control Law seminar Keller and Heckman held October 1-2.
