Herb Estreicher Cited in Article on Foreseen Merged TSCA Bill

Keller and Heckman Partner Herb Estreicher was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Merged TSCA Bill Foreseen; Disputes Await Conference.” The article notes how Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) told Bloomberg that he expects lawmakers to wait until a formal conference to address certain controversial facets of a revamp of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), but he does not see major obstacles to reconciling separate House (H.R. 2576) and Senate (S. 697) efforts.

Among the controversial aspects of TSCA reform that could wait until a formal conference to be addressed include preemption, how to handle confidential business information, and how the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) should address new chemicals.
