Herb Estreicher and David Fischer Quoted in Chemical Watch Article on TSCA New Chemical Reviews
Keller and Heckman attorneys Herb Estreicher and David Fischer were quoted in the Chemical Watch article, “Industry wants Congress to step in on TSCA new chemical reviews, missed deadlines.” The article notes that a leadership change in the U.S. House of Representatives has generated industry requests for lawmakers to steer the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) in a different direction. The article then mentions a petition filed by Keller and Heckman on behalf of a coalition of chemical companies asking for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to amend its rules for conducting new chemical reviews. “[Capitol] Hill, particularly the House side, has and will continue to have a keen interest in this petition and the new chemical program in general,” said David. “That might lead to some advancement of what we’ve suggested.” Herb added that NGOs were “very successful during the Trump administration in getting their agenda adopted by reaching out to friendly Democratic members. I suspect now with the Republicans taking over the House of Representatives, there’d be some opportunities there” for industry.
