Keller and Heckman Partner, George Misko, was quoted in Packaging Dive online newsletter, “Trump’s FDA poised to make mark on food packaging regulation.” The article considers the changes that could be in the offing with the Trump nominees for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and for Commissioner of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Dr. Martin Makary, including fast-tracking of FDA’s post-market review program for chemical substances used in food and food packaging materials.
The article quotes George as noting that Makary and Kennedy could get behind a more robust postmarket review program for food packaging materials. “There are an awful lot of chemicals that have been used in food products, as well as in packaging materials” that have not gone through a full-fledged review in decades, he said.
