David Fischer Quoted in Inside TSCA Article on TSCA Rule for 6PPD
Keller and Heckman Counsel David Fischer was quoted in the Inside TSCA article, “Senators Back TSCA Rule For 6PPD But Seek Path To Smooth Phaseout.” The article mentions a July 31, 2024 hearing, “Understanding the Potential Environmental Impacts of the Chemical 6PPD,” that was called to support a Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) rule limiting 6PPD. During the hearing, Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) asked David, who testified as a witness, “what steps do you recommend the EPA could do administratively to improve their timeline?”
“Unfortunately, chemical reviews now take many months, if not years,” stated David. “If the ultimate goal is for industry to find a replacement for a 6PPD, then we should all be concerned with a potential replacement getting held up in regulatory limbo at EPA. This is why EPA needs to amend its new chemical regulations,” urged David.
