David Fischer Quoted in Article on EPA to Boost Equity Data in TSCA Prioritization
Keller and Heckman Counsel David Fischer was quoted in the Inside TSCA article, “Former Official Expects EPA To Boost Equity Data in TSCA Prioritization.” In the article, David said he expects EPA’s incoming chemicals chief to give a “quite favorable” response to a request from the agency’s children’s health advisers to rework how it prioritizes chemicals for TSCA review, and especially to strengthen its use of chemical data to identify vulnerable communities.
Speaking at a firm-hosted webinar on May 12, David said, “I suspect the response will probably be written by Michal Freedhoff, who is going through a confirmation hearing today and will no doubt be confirmed.”
In a Jan. 26 letter, the Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee (CHPAC) outlined four recommendations for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP) to strengthen how it prioritizes existing chemicals for evaluation under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
