Craig Simpson Authors a European Food and Feed Law Review Article on New Genomic Techniques

Keller and Heckman Partner Craig Simpson authored the European Food and Feed Law Review article, “Playing Catch-Up with England: The Curious Case of New Genomic Techniques.” The article explains the schema of the European Commission’s Proposal on New Genomic Techniques adopted on 5 July 2023 and compares it with that of the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act 2023, which became English law on 23 March 2023. The substance of the Proposal and the Act are similar but there are differences in their substantive scope and the extent to which detailed, as opposed to mere enabling, provisions have been established.
