Chen Hu Quoted in Chemical Watch News & Insight Article on Taiwan Urging Companies to Register Priority Chemicals
Keller and Heckman Scientist Chen Hu was quoted in the Chemical Watch News & Insight article titled “Taiwan Chemicals Administration urges companies to register priority chemicals by midyear.” The article indicates that the Taiwan Chemicals Administration (TCHA) has urged companies to speed up registration submissions for substances listed in the country’s first batch of priority existing chemicals (PECs). The registration deadline was originally at the end of 2021 or 2022, depending on the volume of a substance imported or manufactured. The deadlines were extended to the end of 2024, giving industry more time to prepare their registrations. According to Chen, the registration process is going well so far.
Cost, however, can be a significant challenge for registrations. Joint registrations can help with this, which may also save time for companies, allowing them to pool resources to collect data and conduct new studies, commented Chen.
