Casey Lide Authors a Law360 Article on Grant-Funded Broadband Projects
Keller and Heckman Partner Casey Lide authored a Law360 article, “4 Legal Issues Grant-Funded Broadband Projects May Face.” Casey begins the article by discussing some of the recent major grant funds potentially available to support broadband projects, noting that “there has never been a time of such widespread opportunity for broadband initiatives.” The article then outlines a few significant legal questions that broadband projects are likely to face. The issues are divided up into four categories: 1) project formation and organizational issues; 2) operational matters; 3) regulatory compliance; and 4) grant-related issues.
Casey concludes the article by reminding recipients of broadband infrastructure grants that they will have to “navigate a complicated, specialized, sometimes arcane legal environment, all against a fluid regulatory background.”
