Telecom Business Alert -- ClearRF Waiver, FCC Workshops, 700 MHz Waiver -- Vol. XI Issue 16

FCC Consumer Signal Booster Request Rejected

On April 16, the FCC issued an Order denying ClearRF’s request for a determination that its consumer signal booster provides equivalent protection to the Network Protection Standard.  ClearRF argued that while its consumer signal booster model number WRE2710 does not meet the FCC’s bidirectional capability and booster gain limits requirements, it provides protection equivalent to the Network Protection Standard.  The FCC rejected ClearRF’s request finding that it did not prove equivalent protection under either requirement.
