Keller and Heckman is pleased to announce its annual Practical Food Law Seminar, being held February 27 - March 1, 2018 in San Francisco, CA. The Practical Food Law Seminar provides members of the food industry with a comprehensive presentation of the applicable statutory and regulatory framework for foods including dietary supplements. The course will focus on food safety as well as labeling and advertising.

Food safety provisions will include:

  • Food contamination
  • Foreign objects
  • GRAS ingredients
  • Pesticide residues

    Labeling and advertising provisions will include:

    • Mandatory labeling elements
    • Promoting products via health, nutrient content, structure/function and ingredient quality claims

      Program highlights include the latest developments on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), strategies for surviving inspections, recall and enforcement issues, food safety concerns, testing issues, and import requirements. In addition, there will be a focus on advertising and promotion, with a particular emphasis on the impact of consumer class action lawsuits on regulatory and legislative policy governing labeling and advertising, challenging and defending competitive claims, and substantiating "Establishment Claims," as well as other issues in this arena.
