Taylor Johnson advises clients on compliance and litigation related to occupational safety and health, employment, environmental, and transportation regulations. He represents employers’ interests in citations and investigations under the federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and state plans across the country. Taylor co-hosts Keller and Heckman’s OSHA 30/30 podcast and webinar, a monthly program covering critical developing issues of occupational safety and health to a large community of safety and health professionals.

Additionally, Taylor counsels clients on an extensive range of environmental matters, including compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations such as the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and the Federal, Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). He provides advice on the domestic and international transportation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods, helping clients navigate the U.S. Department of Transportations (DOT) Hazardous Materials Regulation (HMR). He also guides clients through the myriad of community right-to-know laws, energy efficiency regulation of products, California’s Proposition 65, as well as state law matters regarding e-cigarettes, vapor products, and CBD regulations.

  • Represented employers in construction, manufacturing, transportation, retail, and distribution in contesting OSHA citations in almost every OSHA region and state plan states nationwide
  • Successfully represented businesses in event cancellation insurance claims
  • Effectively petitioned OSHA for interpretation letters on behalf of clients
  • Secured competent authority approvals and letters of interpretation from regulatory authorities around the world
  • Successfully petitioned the DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) for special permit approvals on behalf of shippers seeking regulatory relief
  • Advised clients on state legislation imposing vapor products flavor bans and taxes  
  • Represented clients in various litigation and mediation matters
