Title: OSHA and Chemical Regulatory Specialist

Description: 

An OSHA and Chemical Regulatory Specialist with significant experience in workplace safety and health is needed to work in our Washington, DC Office to assist our attorneys in counseling clients with regard to OSHA and chemical regulatory compliance.

Substantive knowledge requirements include: working knowledge of the OSH Act and OSHA safety and health standards and regulations; understanding of the rulemaking and enforcement roles of OSHA and its state counterparts; familiarity with consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, ISO) affecting workplace safety and health (e.g., NFPA Life Safety Code, ANSI Standard for Hazardous Industrial Chemicals, Precautionary Labeling and Preparation of MSDS and the National Electrical Code); and understanding of how effective successful workplace safety and health programs are structured, implemented and audited.

Attractive additional credentials: CIH, CSP, qualification to teach OSHA 30 hour course (general industry and/or construction). 

Required skills and experience: Successful candidate will have: at least 5 years experience; strong academic credentials; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; excellent research and analytical skills; strong attention to detail; creativity; and the ability to assume immediate responsibility. Occasional travel and speaking opportunities.
