Suyan (Sharon) Tian is a legal consultant who supports the food and drug practice attorneys by monitoring developments impacting the regulations of food, food packaging, drugs, medical devices, and cosmetics throughout Asia. Sharon assists clients by helping multi-national companies with regulatory compliance issues, including food and food-related products, feed and feed additives, medical devices, and cosmetics.

Sharon helps clients keep up with the fast-developing regulations in Asia by monitoring regulatory updates in the areas of dietary supplements, chemical control, and environmental protection. She supports food and drug practice attorneys as they assess and analyze the impact of regulatory updates on clients’ business, and provides advice on market entry options and solutions to eliminate or mitigate potential risks.

Sharon also supports our attorneys as they advise clients on the status of ingredients, processing aids, and finished products (including labeling) under all Asian regulatory schemes and provide information on the specific procedures necessary to obtain approvals for novel foods, health foods, and feed and food made from biotechnology in the Asia-Pacific region.

Sharon helps partners and associates provide legal advice to clients regarding the Chinese regulations on cross-border e-commerce (CBEC) mode of import for food and consumer products. In addition, she helps attorneys conduct product reviews on food, consumer products, cosmetics, and disinfectant products exported to Asia, and advises on compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., ingredients and labeling).
